This PR is finished, the issue at jira not. I think that the next step will be replace obsolete things of hibernate, next replace hibernate version and finally spring issues |

Hibernate and Spring versions can be in their own JIRA issues and are not an issue with regards to JDK 9. Do you have any other JDK 9 tasks that should be added to this PR? |

In this PR not. Im using SAK-40004 as a meta issue, cause it is a really big task. But in fact, Hibernate and Spring are the biggest problem of JDK9, 10 and 11. (Due internal changes of JDK9). The problem is that we use a lot Hibernate and Spring and the upgrading will be hard. |

@ern Can this be merged, I have a near due date to release a version of Sakai for my University compatible with newer versions of JDK and I prefer not make a fork of Sakai, becouse it will be complex merge that kind of changes. |
