building node man pages
FYI, if you get an error trying to install the node man pages (e.g., on OS X 10.6), from your install directory in terminal run:

xsltproc --output doc/node.1 doc/manpage.xsl doc/api.xml 

then try again:

make doc install 

this will fetch the docbook.xsl from the network location instead of trying to find a local copy
