# Using the Gineatech DB4
The Gineatech DB4 is identical to the Dragonboard 410. It only improves upon it by having an onboard ethernet port and an optional RAM and EMMC upgrade. All software and guides are identical to that of the Dragonboard 410c and for that reason most of the links below will take you to Dragonboard410c specific guides.

**IMPORTANT NOTES** | ||
- HDMI EDID display data is used to determine the best display resolution. On monitors and TVs that support 1080p (or 1200p) this resolution will be selected. If 1080p is not supported the next available resolution reported by EDID will be used. This selected mode will work with **MOST but not all** monitors/TVs.
- There are limitations on the usage of the USB ports on the DragonBoard 410c.
*** | ||
## Starting the board for the first time
**The DragonBoard 410c comes preloaded with Android and can be up and running with a few simple steps:**
- Connect the DragonBoard 410c to your display with the HDMI cable. It is important to do this first because the monitor will not detect the board if it is connected after starting. Ensure that the source for the display is switched to the HDMI port you are using.
- Connect the USB keyboard and mouse. Do not connect the USB OTG port to your computer – this will prevent the keyboard and mouse from operating. The USB OTG port is the micro USB connector on the board.
![dipswitch](../additional-docs/images/images-board/sd/db4-boot-switch.png)
- Set the boot switches SW7 to 00 and set the USB boot to ‘on’side.
- Verify the HDMI cable and USB cables are plugged in, then connect the power supply to the DragonBoard. The board will begin to boot Android immediately. Note that this may take a minute or two to get to the Android screen on the HDMI Monitor.
Please refer to the DragonBoard 410c [Android User Guide](https://github.com/96boards/documentation/blob/master/consumer/dragonboard/dragonboard410c/guides/AndroidUserGuide_DragonBoard.pdf) for further information on working with Android and some basic programming examples.

# Troubleshooting | ||
Please take advantage of the many DragonBoard 410c resources available to you through Qualcomm, 96Boards, Arrow, and Coursera.
- [DragonBoard 410c Forum](https://discuss.96boards.org/c/products/dragonboard410c/)
- The DragonBoard has its very own 96Boards forum. If you can't find a pre-existing thread that addresses your issue, start your own and let the community help out!
- [Qualcomm Developer Network](https://developer.qualcomm.com/hardware/dragonboard-410c)
- This developer network has a DragonBoard landing page with tutorial videos, tools, resources, its own forum, and a projects page
- [Arrow](https://www.arrow.com)
- Buy the DragonBoard 410c here! If you run into any issues, you can speak with a representative, they should be able to point you in the right direction
- [Coursera](https://www.coursera.org/specializations/internet-of-things)
- Students from the [University of California San Diego](https://ucsd.edu/) put together an "Internet of Things" (IoT) course focused around the DragonBoard 410c. It is free to audit, or you can purchase the specialization package for a cool certificate!
- [Report a bug!](../../../../Extras/Report_a_bug.md)
- Instructions on how to report bugs for any of our 96Boards hardware and software, this includes the DragonBoard 410c!
- [Board Recovery](../../dragonboard410c/installation/board-recovery.md)
- Bricked board? Many software issues can be fixed with a simple "board recovery" |
