Hide Things On Social Media

Hide things on social media with this extension. Choose what you want to hide or not.

Installation Instructions

Google Chrome

1. Download this repo as a ZIP file from GitHub.
2. Unzip the file, and you should have a folder named HideThingsOnSocialMedia-master.
3. In Chrome go to the extensions page (chrome://extensions).
4. Enable Developer Mode.
5. Drag the HideThingsOnSocialMedia-master folder anywhere on the page to import it (do not delete the folder afterwards).
6. Pin the extension to the top bar by clicking on the Extension-icon (Puzzle)

Mozilla Firefox

1. Install from the Add-ons store
2. Go to Manage Your Extensions. Click on the three dots for this extension and click manage. Set Allow automatic updates on On.

• YouTube

New site requests

If you want to sites to be added in the extension, look in Issues if your site is in the list. If not, make a new Issue and give the site and explain what needs to be hidden.

Troubleshooting

If it doesn't work, try to refresh the page or close the browser. If it isn't fixed, make an Issue on Github.

Block websites on your machine?

Windows

1. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
2. Open hosts (with Atom, notepad or something else)
3. Add websites which you no longer want access to.
4. Add at the end of the file:
5. 127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com
6. 127.0.0.1 facebook.com # if the www. doesn't work.
