🎓 I am John Abbey and I am an R Developer specializing in writing software for Imaging Proteomics technologies. I have a Bachelors (UCD) and Masters (ETHZ) in Biochemistry.

👨‍💻 Current projects I am working on include writing an R package called gutenTAG for the Bodenmiller Lab to facilitate robust and efficient processing and analysis of Mass Spectrometry Imaging data, as well as a companion RShiny app to facilitate interactive visualisation of metapeaks and the generated images. These tools are being used by the Functional Genomics Center Zurich (FGCZ), the state-of-the-art research facility providing support for labs at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich.

🎸 Outside of work, I have many hobbies that help me to decompress. My hobbies range from sporty ones such as running, snowboarding & skiing and Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, to the more relaxing ones such as playing guitar and reading, typically history, philosophy or some fiction 📚.
