It is a relatively straightforward design with two\n16-entry FIFOs, arbitrary transfer sizes (up to 2**32 - 1) and fully\nconfigurable word size up to 32 bits. It supports one hardware CS line\nwhich can also be driven via the pinctrl/GPIO driver instead, if\ndesired. TX and RX can be independently enabled.\n\nThere are a surprising number of knobs for tweaking details of the\ntransfer, most of which we do not use right now. Hardware CS control\nis available, but we haven't found a way to make it stay low across\nmultiple logical transfers, so we just use software CS control for now.\n\nThere is also a shared DMA offload coprocessor that can be used to handle\nlarger transfers without requiring an IRQ every 8-16 words, but that\nfeature depends on a bunch of scaffolding that isn't ready to be\nupstreamed yet, so leave it for later.\n\nThe hardware shares some register bit definitions with spi-s3c24xx which\nsuggests it has a shared legacy with Samsung SoCs, but it is too\ndifferent to warrant sharing a driver.\n\nSigned-off-by: Hector Martin ","shortMessageHtmlLink":"spi: apple: Add driver for Apple SPI controller"}},{"before":null,"after":"5d1f4810af33612a6ed966dfaf41e1fa4d585c65","ref":"refs/heads/v6.10/bits/050-nvme","pushedAt":"2024-07-27T10:50:23.000Z","pushType":"branch_creation","commitsCount":0,"pusher":{"login":"jannau","name":"Janne Grunau","path":"/jannau","primaryAvatarUrl":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/486189?s=80&v=4"},"commit":{"message":"apple-nvme: Support coprocessors left idle\n\niBoot on at least some firmwares/machines leaves ANS2 running, requiring\na wake command instead of a CPU boot (and if we reset ANS2 in that\nstate, everything breaks).\n\nOnly stop the CPU if RTKit was running, and only do the reset dance if\nthe CPU is stopped.\n\nNormal shutdown handoff:\n- RTKit not yet running\n- CPU detected not running\n- Reset\n- CPU powerup\n- RTKit boot wait\n\nANS2 left running/idle:\n- RTKit not yet running\n- CPU detected running\n- RTKit wake message\n\nSleep/resume cycle:\n- RTKit shutdown\n- CPU stopped\n- (sleep here)\n- CPU detected not running\n- Reset\n- CPU powerup\n- RTKit boot wait\n\nShutdown or device removal:\n- RTKit shutdown\n- CPU stopped\n\nTherefore, the CPU running bit serves as a consistent flag of whether\nthe coprocessor is fully stopped or just idle.\n\nSigned-off-by: Hector Martin ","shortMessageHtmlLink":"apple-nvme: Support coprocessors left idle"}},{"before":null,"after":"49b1418468a67e50e09429e65a14866ecac41cf1","ref":"refs/heads/v6.10/bits/040-dwc3","pushedAt":"2024-07-27T10:50:22.000Z","pushType":"branch_creation","commitsCount":0,"pusher":{"login":"jannau","name":"Janne Grunau","path":"/jannau","primaryAvatarUrl":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/486189?s=80&v=4"},"commit":{"message":"Revert \"usb: dwc3: core: Fix unused variable warning in core driver\"\n\nThis reverts commit 01be965ce5ab028c15fa64bbfdd59aac87a374ca.","shortMessageHtmlLink":"Revert \"usb: dwc3: core: Fix unused variable warning in core driver\""}},{"before":null,"after":"b3ec3e40563e993d27db937de0f58b8dd4c74d26","ref":"refs/heads/v6.10/bits/030-misc","pushedAt":"2024-07-27T10:50:20.000Z","pushType":"branch_creation","commitsCount":0,"pusher":{"login":"jannau","name":"Janne Grunau","path":"/jannau","primaryAvatarUrl":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/486189?s=80&v=4"},"commit":{"message":"Partial revert \"arm64: Enable 52-bit virtual addressing for 4k and 16k granule configs\"\n\nThis reverts commit 352b0395b5053fca01b9dc60294235511f5f3d65.\n\nFEAT_LPA2 support is broken.","shortMessageHtmlLink":"Partial revert \"arm64: Enable 52-bit virtual addressing for 4k and 16…"}},{"before":null,"after":"9ed0b5f14625ba5796c2f4724ffab98f383f0de3","ref":"refs/heads/v6.10/bits/020-dart","pushedAt":"2024-07-27T10:50:18.000Z","pushType":"branch_creation","commitsCount":0,"pusher":{"login":"jannau","name":"Janne Grunau","path":"/jannau","primaryAvatarUrl":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/486189?s=80&v=4"},"commit":{"message":"iommu/of: Handle missing iommu_ops as probe deferral in of_iommu_xlate\n\nSigned-off-by: Janne Grunau ","shortMessageHtmlLink":"iommu/of: Handle missing iommu_ops as probe deferral in of_iommu_xlate"}},{"before":null,"after":"9ce23f3f6666485de5d4028ba28131245e3009bb","ref":"refs/heads/v6.10/bits/010-soc","pushedAt":"2024-07-27T10:50:16.000Z","pushType":"branch_creation","commitsCount":0,"pusher":{"login":"jannau","name":"Janne Grunau","path":"/jannau","primaryAvatarUrl":"https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/486189?s=80&v=4"},"commit":{"message":"soc: apple: rtkit: Use high prio work queue\n\nrtkit messages as communication with the DCP firmware for framebuffer\nswaps or input events are time critical so use WQ_HIGHPRI to prevent\nuser space CPU load to increase latency.\nWith kwin_wayland 6's explicit sync mode user space load was able to\ndelay the IOMFB rtkit communication enough to miss vsync for surface\nswaps.
