Minutes:

  • Renfei talked about a recent feature to support JDK_VENDOR in TKG (Add jdk vendor in TKG TKG#142). This feature allows us to tag certain test material to be only relevant to a particular vendor. There are a couple of use cases identified for this feature (extra openjdk test targets for features specific to Dragonwell: Add customized jtreg tests for dragonwell #2135 and vendor specific build and packaging tests: Add Smoke tests for build & packaging temurin-build#2397)
  • Morgan gave an overview of the build pipelines revamp (Parameterized Generators and Pipelines temurin-build#2132) and a quick demo of it in action. It essentially allows for greater reuse of the build pipelines by others, requiring to encapsulate and hold smaller changes while using the build pipelines directly from Adopt.
  • Quick reminder of the upcoming release retrospective scheduled for Monday (see release channel discussion)
  • See links to upcoming talks related to AQA in the Agenda of this issue.
  • A quick mention of the CanOSP program and code sprint that occurred over the weekend. A team of 5 students will be working part-time at AQA improvements, starting with this EPIC EPIC: AQA Change-based testing for PRs (various repos and applications) #2186 - related issues and feature enhancements will be tagged with canosp_w21 tag to make it easier for the students to find and pick up issues during their term.
    • By the end of the weekend code sprint, a couple of the issues had already been addressed or are very well progressed.
    • They also gave a short presentation of their understanding of the project and the goals for the term, found on the CanOSP Winter 2021 Code Sprint page.
    • Lan, Sophia and Shelley are mentors and meet weekly with the students to help out.
  • Given we are a very healthy active project, there are lots of PRs (fixes, improvements and features) flowing in. We are working on getting the backlog that accumulated during last weeks release all reviewed and merged. This also means we have lots of great content queued up for next AQAvit meeting, tentatively plan to showcase some of the system test work along with Dacapo perf benchmark widget in TRSS.
